Mesh Digital’s Domainmonster.com receive .me accreditation
Date: 08/05/08
Mesh Digital’s Domainmonster.com domain name registration brand today announces its accreditation for the up and coming .me domain name. Run on behalf of the Montenegro government, .me was assigned to them by the ISO 3165 Maintenance Agency in June 2006 and delegated by IANA in September 2007.
Widely expected to be one of the largest country code domain launches (ccTLD) in history, .me will clearly be a highly sought after domain; one of very few that are just two letters long and more importantly a very useable word.
Matt Mansell, Managing Director at Mesh Digital Limited commented, "The potential for .me is enormous. We’ve all had great fun at Mesh creating the marketing to support this domain. This is clearly going to be very popular with our consumer market, but I’m sure many business ventures will result too! Email.me, want.me, love.me will all no doubt result in high value brands living at these domains. Equally I’ll be personally looking to secure http://www.mansell.me for my personal blog, creating subdomains for my family such as http://matt.mansell.me!".
Available to the general public from the Landrush stage @ 15:00 UTC on 6th June 2008, Domainmonster.com will be taking pre-orders from Monday 12th May 2008.

About doMEn, d.o.o.
The ISO 3165 Maintenance Agency assigned the ME country code to Montenegro shortly after it gained its independence in June 2006. In December 2006, Montenegro submitted its application to IANA for delegation of the .ME Top Level Domain. The delegation was finally approved and took place in September 2007.
The Government of Montenegro recognized the potential worldwide appeal that .ME could have and decided it should be operated as a generic name space to gain the maximum benefit for Montenegro. The Government issued a public RFP in November 2007. The goal of the RFP was to find a Registration Agent that could operate an international registry, provide world class backend registry services, and provide the marketing and promotional muscle needed to make .ME a worldwide success. Ultimately, we believe they made an excellent choice!
The contract was awarded to doMEn, d.o.o., a Montenegro based joint venture (doing business as .ME Registry). Me-Net is located in Montenegro and its principles have been leaders in the ICT sector in Montenegro, including the privatization of its largest ISP.
