Mesh receives coveted ICANN accreditation to become 13th UK ICANN registrar.

Mesh Digital Limited and their Domain Names business, Domainmonster.com today announced they have become the 13th ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) accredited Domain Name registrar for the UK.

This coveted accreditation, achieved only by others such as British Telecom PLC, allows Domainmonster.com to deal directly with ICANN, the not-for-profit organisation, handed management of the Internets DNS (Domain Name System) and unique identifiers in 1998 from the US Government.

Consumers are buying through a reseller channel when they deal with them, meaning they don’t have direct control and price points are effectively not in their control. Domainmonster.com hopes to implement their newly awarded accreditation within the following three months, rolling out direct support for each of the world's registries stage by stage, commencing with the dotAsia (.asia) Landrush launch on 20th February 2008.
