Ubisoft light the fuse on the very latest meshcards campaign

Bomberman MeshcardsUbisoft and Mesh Digital today announce the imminent release of Bomberman™ meshcards. The popular Bomberman™ video games, which are all developed by Hudson Soft Co Ltd, include various characters that form the choice of ten designs of meshcards, available in this campaign.

The campaign sees Bomberman™ characters such as Princess and Racer appear on these exclusive sets of meshcards available free to consumers at the campaign URL www.bombercards.com. Matt Mansell, Managing Director, Mesh Digital Ltd commented, “We are extremely excited to be working with Ubisoft on this project. As the fastest growing company in the video industry, it is clear Ubisoft are always looking for innovative approaches to market their products. I”m delighted they”ve chosen meshcards to help achieve this for their Bomberman™ launch.”

The campaign also features a tie-in with video games retailer “Game”, providing a £5 money-off voucher for each consumer that orders a set of the free cards. Consumers circulating the most meshcards to their friends can also qualify to receive a host of prizes including a copy of Bomberman™ Hardball (for the PS2), or Bomberman™ (for the DS), further encouraging viral distribution for this campaign.

Commenting further Emma Fifield, Product Manager, Ubisoft said “Meshcards are perfect for the Bomberman™ target market. Everyone wins; we see our branded media distributed far beyond regular circulation, capturing targeted data along the way and our customers receive a limited edition, free promotion. Not only do the meshcards allow them to display their affinity with our brand, but they provide a mechanism for our customers to pass on their personal details and/or gaming tags, using a business card type approach that is fun and youthful.”

The set of 20 meshcards are entirely sponsored by Ubisoft and free to consumers. They can be designed and ordered via the meshcards campaign site at www.bombercards.com or by visiting the Bomberman video game site at www.bombermanbattle.com
